Thermal Shutoffs are designed to be used where a cutting system has a single source of gaseous oxygen. Unlike a Flashback Arrestor which is designed for applications with a Fuel gas and Oxygen. The Thermal Shutoff was designed for Oxylance with three safety functions which protect the user and equipment.
High Gas Volume Non-Return Valve to prevent reverse flow of oxygen
When hot metal is forced back into the Thermal Shutoff it activates the Thermal Shutoff and shuts off the flow of oxygen stopping the fire from getting to the control valve.
Anti-Slag / Backfire Barrier is a sintered bronze filter that prevents Slag and Molten Metal from getting into the oxygen control valve and oxygen hose.
